About The Project
These illustrations are a creative tribute to organ donation. My twin brother, Dan, the Lion of this company, was a transplant recipient and a master of colour. I drew, and he coloured. He was fearless with colour and never stayed within the lines. Our collaborative work was shared amongst friends, family, and the staff at Toronto General Hospital during his final transplant.
Now, I invite you to do the same. By adding your own creative twist, you’re not just making art—you’re helping start an important conversation. Because while signing up to be an organ donor is powerful, letting your loved ones know your wishes is just as important. Talking about death can be uncomfortable, but leaving your family guessing is even harder. These cards can help start that important dialogue—with colour, care, and heart.
These designs will be available on Donkey & Lion’s website as free printable downloads by the end of April 2026.
